🛒 Ingredients

1 lb fresh okra, sliced into bite-size pieces

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup cornmeal

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp paprika

Oil for frying

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Place the sliced okra in a bowl and pour the buttermilk over it. Let it soak for a few minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Lift the okra from the buttermilk and toss it in the coating mixture. Press lightly to make sure every piece is well covered.

Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the okra in batches until golden brown and crispy.

Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serve hot and enjoy your crispy fried okra! 🌿✨
